The Catenian Association is a brotherhood of Catholic men who meet regularly for mutual support, social activities, and to further the work of the lay apostolate in the Church. There are over 10,000 Catenians worldwide in groups called “Circles”, the Wigan group being Circle 16, formed in 1913 and celebrating its centenary this year. We meet monthly on the first Monday of each month at 7.30pm at Hindley Hall Golf Club with a buffet and informal chat included. Social functions which are organised throughout the year include the Ladies Dinner Dance, President’s Night, a Clergy Dinner, a Christmas Party, and President’s Weekend. Mass is offered throughout the year for vocations to the priesthood and for the repose of all deceased members.
All practicing Catholic men aged 18 years and over and eligible to join. Interested? Want to know more?

ROSARIES FOR THE MISSIONS
Nearly three years ago the Catenians made an appeal for people to send unused rosary beads to the missions. Since then around 450,000 rosary beads have been sent to various mission territories around the world. They are now hoping to reach a new target of 500,000 rosary beads.
Do you have any unused rosary beads? Send them to Mr. Michael Blackburn at 164 Green Park Road, Halifax, HX3 0SP.
